Sri Lanka is currently experiencing one of its most devastating flood seasons in recent history. Torrential rains, particularly during the monsoon season, have caused widespread flooding across various regions, leading to severe damage to infrastructure, homes, and agriculture. Thousands of families have been displaced, and the economic impact is substantial.

Current Situation:
1. Over 84,749 people from 21,353 families have been affected across 20 districts.
2. Severe flooding has been reported in Sabaragamuwa, Nuwara Eliya, Galle, Matara, Kandy, Western, and North-Western provinces.
3. Major rivers like Nilwala, Panadugama, Deduru Oya, Kalu, and Atthanagalu Oya face significant flood risks.
4. 16 deaths have been reported, and landslide warnings have been issued in seven districts.
5. Heavy rains exceeding 300 mm have triggered flash floods, uprooted trees, unleashed strong winds, and caused landslides.

Immediate Needs: To address the immediate needs of the affected populations, we are urgently appealing for support in the form of donations and resources. Your contribution can make a significant difference in providing relief to those impacted by the floods. Specifically, we need:

1. Hygiene Kits: To prevent disease outbreaks and ensure personal hygiene, we need hygiene kits containing soap, sanitizer, water purification tablets, and sanitary pads.
2. Mosquito Nets: To protect against mosquito-borne diseases like malaria and dengue fever, mosquito nets are essential.
3. Emergency Shelter: Temporary shelters in schools, community centers, and other public buildings need supplies such as blankets, sleeping mats, and tents.
4. Food and Water: Non-perishable food items and clean drinking water are crucial for sustaining the displaced families.
5. Medical Supplies: Basic medical supplies and first aid kits to address injuries and health concerns.
