ChildFund Sri Lanka launches LIPOID Phase Two

ChildFund Sri Lanka launched Phase two of the project funded by the Lipoid Foundation.

The project on Socio-economic Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities in Sri Lanka through Community Based Inclusive Development (CBID) – Phase II was held at the Vocational Training Centre, Amunukumbura, on the 11th of February 2021.

The goal of the project goal is to ensure Children with Disabilities (CwDs), and Youth with Disabilities (YwDs) achieve full participation in all dimensions of community life.

The objectives of the project are to be accomplished by providing quality vocational training and life skills training, building strong and sustainable Disability Person’s Organization (DPOs) which deliver services and refer Self Help Group (SHGs)/Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) /caregivers to service providers – including employers and private sector and finally effectively advocate for rights of PwDs with extensive engagement of employers and private sector.
Representatives of ChildFund Sri Lanka, Department of Social Services, Department of Disability Studies – Faculty of Medicine University of Kelaniya were present during the signing of the tripart agreement to commence the Project.
