ChildFund completes construction of water and sanitation facilities at Batticaloa’s Nellikadu School with support from public donations

ChildFund Sri Lanka completed construction of the water and sanitation facilities at the Nellikadu School (officially known as BT/BW/ Nellur Kalaimagal Vidyalayam) in Batticaloa Sri Lanka, with support from public donations.

ChildFund Sri Lanka is appreciative of generous local donors; Hasithi Samarasinghe, Akshila Anurangi and friends who sponsored the infrastructure development, as well as Atlas Axillia, the stationary company for sponsoring part of the items and school equipment.

The WASH programme was designed by ChildFund Sri Lanka and implemented in the community by Action Unity Lanka and supported by ChildFund New Zealand. The programme focuses on providing Water and Sanitation, Health (WASH) facilities to rural schools and communities, along with related training focusing on students, teachers, and community members.
